Podiatry care

Common skin and nail conditions can be painful and if left untreated may spread, cause infection and develop into further issues. If you're unsure of what is troubling you, our podiatrists will assess and diagnose the condition in your first assessment and begin treatment.

We treat:

  • thickened and discoloured toenails
  • fungal toenails and skin
  • verrucae
  • corns and calluses
  • hard skin and cracked heels
  • ingrowing nails
  • skin conditions

Your first appointment will take up to 45 minutes. You may need to attend follow up appointments depending on your advised treatment plan. Your podiatrist will advise whether you need to attend a 30 minute or 45 minute follow up appointment.

Forbes Feet ProPedi

The ProPedi is a professional and luxury pedicure, formulated by Claire Forbes and is exclusively delivered by Forbes Feet approved practitioners. During your treatment, your nails are cut, cleared and filed. We will also treat toughened nails and gently remove hard skin. We use our refreshing Forbes Feet Hygiene Wash to cleanse and disinfect skin and nails, and finish off with a restorative and energising foot massage using our Forbes Feet Hydrating Cream.

This treatment is a non-medical pedicure focussing on restoring foot and nail health. It is not delivered by a podiatrist and therefore does not address corns, callus or ingrowing nails.

Orthotic therapy

A biomechanical foot assessment is a detailed examination of your foot and leg function. It helps to diagnose the cause of pain in heels, ankles, knees, hips and back.

We would recommend an assessment if you're struggling with plantar fasciitis pain, Achilles tendonitis, flat feet, joint pain, bunions or sport injuries. Our podiatrists will often prescribe orthoses to help relieve your pain and discomfort. There are two types - over the counter (OTC) and custom-made orthoses.

Orthoses

Orthoses or orthotics are more commonly known as insoles. They are foot shaped devices fitted into your shoe to support your foot arch, help correct alignment, act as shock absorbers and help with mobility of the foot.

Traditional or OTC orthoses are adjusted to fit your shoe and the shape of your foot - you can go home with foot support the very same day.

Custom orthoses are made from various high tech materials such as carbon fibre and are often prescribed for more complex issues. The orthoses are designed to offer advance support to target your specific concerns and are uniquely contoured to your foot arches and shape. Custom orthoses are lab made and can take up to 6 weeks to arrive.

Our podiatrists will advise you of the most effective treatment plan and device during your initial assessment. For your assessment and orthoses fitting, please bring along the pair of shoes you wear most regularly.

Paediatric assessment

It is fairly common for children to struggle with foot function and structural development in their early years and this can be due to a number of reasons. In a short and gentle assessment, we will help to identify any concerns and advise the best support device and treatment plan for your little one. For this assessment, please bring along the pair of shoes your child wears most regularly. This appointment is suitable for children up to 8 years' old.

Specialist care assessment

A gentle assessment of the feet and lower limbs will help to diagnose any biomechanical issues for our patients with existing medical conditions such as cerebral palsy.

We will advise you of the most effective devices and treatment plan to suit your needs, so that you can feel more comfortable, stable and independent. For this assessment, please bring along any walking aids and the pair of shoes you wear the most regularly.

Surgery

Nail surgery

We will look to resolve the troublesome in-growing or diseased nail using less invasive, non-surgical procedures and treatments first, nail surgery is often the final and more permanent solution.

During your assessment, your podiatrist will examine your affected nail, take a full medical history and give you aftercare advice and support. Your podiatrist will also advise how many dressings changes you will need.

During the surgery, the nail is partially or fully removed under local anesthetic. It can take up to 8 weeks for the nail area to heal.

We advise you to rest after your surgery, and if you are feeling well, you can go back to work the next day. Avoid driving immediately after your surgery as your foot may feel numb from the anaesthetic. You should also avoid high impact sports, swimming or any activity that increases pressure on your feet.

Nail surgery per nail (45 - 90 minutes)  | £250

Post nail surgery dressing change (up to 30 minutes)  | £60
